Community Guidelines
Every member is verified. These are the rules that keep it worth it: simple, plain, and the same for everyone.
The short version
- Be yourself. Real photos, real details, one account.
- Respect people and their choices. Consent comes first, in chat, on calls and in person.
- Never ask for money. Not for anything, in any form.
- Keep it safe and legal. No harassment, hate, nudity or selling. No one under 18, ever.
- Tell us when something feels wrong. We confirm every report within 2 hours.
1. Be yourself
TwoTide works because every member is exactly who they say they are.
- Use recent photos of you, where your face is clearly visible. No photos of other people passed off as you, and no heavy filters that change how you look.
- Keep your name, age and details accurate. They’re checked against your ID.
- Have one account, and only use your own. Don’t share it, sell it, or let anyone else use it.
- Be honest about what you’re looking for and about your relationship status.
- Don’t pretend to be anyone else, including TwoTide staff.
2. Respect and consent
- Be kind, even when you’re not interested. A polite “no thanks” is always enough, and so is no reply.
- Take no for an answer. If someone doesn’t reply, unmatches or blocks you, don’t try to reach them another way.
- Never send sexual messages, photos or video that someone hasn’t clearly asked for.
- Video calls start only when both people agree. Don’t record or screenshot calls, streams or chats to share without permission.
- Don’t share anyone’s private information, such as their full name, address, workplace or messages, without their consent.
- Consent applies when you meet in person too. How you treat people you meet through TwoTide affects your membership.
3. Never ask for money
Never ask another member for money, in any form: cash, bank or wire transfers, gift cards, cryptocurrency, loans, “fees”, travel costs, or help with an emergency. And don’t pitch investments, trading tips or business opportunities.
- Our scam guard reads messages for these patterns automatically and warns the person receiving them.
- The first request earns a formal warning. The second is stopped before it’s delivered, and the account is suspended for review and normally banned.
- Don’t push people to move to WhatsApp, Telegram, text or another app early on. It’s the most common first step in a romance scam. Links in chat unlock once you’ve been matched for 7 days and sent 50 messages together; don’t disguise links or contact details to get round it.
If anyone asks you for money, don’t send it. Report them. We’ll never ask you for money either, except through TwoTide’s own checkout.
4. No harassment, hate or harmful content
Don’t post, send or stream anything that:
- harasses, bullies, threatens or intimidates anyone;
- attacks people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or age;
- shows nudity or sexual activity, including in profile photos and on Live;
- shows or encourages violence, self-harm, or illegal drugs or weapons;
- is spam, a scam or misleading;
- breaks the law or someone else’s rights, including copyright.
5. No one under 18
TwoTide is strictly for adults. Every member’s age is confirmed from a government ID. Don’t include photos of children on their own in your profile, and never involve a minor in anything on TwoTide.
Any content that sexualises a minor leads to an immediate permanent ban and is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and the police. If you think someone on TwoTide is under 18, report them straight away.
6. No selling or solicitation
TwoTide is for meeting people, not for business. Don’t use it to:
- advertise, sell or promote products, services, events, social accounts or causes;
- recruit for jobs, multi-level marketing or anything similar;
- offer or seek paid dating, “sugar” arrangements, escorting or any sexual service;
- ask for gifts or tokens in exchange for anything.
7. On Live
Live is where members meet in real time, so the bar is higher.
- Only fully verified members can go live, and hosted events always have a moderator.
- One strike: nudity or harassment on Live means an immediate permanent ban, tied to your verified identity.
- Stay on TwoTide: don’t share contact details or ask viewers for money or gifts off TwoTide.
- Streams are recorded and kept for 30 days so we can review reports. Hosts can end a stream and report it instantly; our team responds within 15 minutes.
8. Report anything that feels wrong
You don’t need to be sure a rule was broken. If something feels off, report it using the report button on any profile, message, call or stream, or see the Safety center. You can also block someone at any time.
What happens next
- Within 2 hours, we confirm we’ve received your report and a person on our Trust & Safety team is looking at it.
- Within 24 hours, we send you an update on the outcome.
- The person you reported isn’t told who reported them.
Please don’t make false or malicious reports; that’s against these guidelines too. If you’re in immediate danger, call 911 (or your local emergency number) first.
9. When rules are broken
We look at every case individually, and act in proportion to what happened. We may:
- remove content, or send a warning;
- limit features, or hide a profile;
- suspend an account while we investigate. Three independent reports can pause an account automatically until a person reviews it;
- permanently ban the person. Bans are tied to their verified identity, so they can’t simply sign up again.
Some things lead to a ban on the first offence: anything involving a minor, nudity or harassment on Live, threats of violence, trafficking or exploitation, and asking for money a second time. Where the law requires it, or someone’s safety is at risk, we also contact the authorities.
These guidelines are part of our Terms of Membership. If you think we made a mistake, email [email protected].
